Group Environmental Manager

Sanford has a diverse operational portfolio with an equally diverse set of environmental aspects to manage and oversee. The Group Environmental Manager maintains leadership of our Environmental Management System across our sites, enabling compliance with requirements along with the identification, development and implementation of improvements and solutions to environmental challenges.

 

About the role:

Through a systems-based approach, the Group Environmental Manager:

  • Develops and implements environmental control and improvement strategies, practices and action plans.
  • Co-ordinates the measurement and monitoring of waste management, recycling, discharges, water and energy use, carbon emissions, and other relevant environmental aspects.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • A sound understanding of environmental science through graduate level study and/or industry experience.
  • An understanding of the requirements for, and functioning of, ISO14001 aligned Environmental Management Systems.
  • An ability to understand and utilise systems to review, assess, and implement problem solving tasks.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead teams to achieve outcomes.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including environmental data focused software tools.
  • Initiative to recognise emerging challenges and proactively develop solutions.

Travel to operational sites will be required when appropriate.
